KADS Awards 2009


KADS 2009 Annual Awards Night held at the theatre on January 31 was a great success. Torrential rain fell elsewhere in the hills, however it held off in Kalamunda and bagpiper, Willie Young, piped guests into the theatre in bright sunlight. President Lindsay Goodwin welcomed everybody in the theatre, and master of ceremonies, Kim Taylor, kept the show rolling very smoothly until the very end. Kim commenced by announcing Graham Miles had received an ITA award for the 'best villian' for his enthusiastic performance in Aladdin and Karen Woodcock had been appointed a Finley Awards adjudicator for 2009. Extracts from the tense one-act drama 'The Return' and the hilarious panto 'Aladdin' were shown in the first half, then everybody went outside to enjoy a light supper during the interval. After the interval Kim Taylor announced winners of Awards and Certificates.

 Presented by Hon John Day, Minister for Culture and the Arts, to JACQUI WARNER for INTIMATE EXCHANGES
2008 John Clarke Award for Best Stage Manager
 Presented by Di Graham to KAREN WOODCOCK for AMY”S VIEW
